We are Nigel and Amanda, a couple who have quit the rat race with plans to liveaboard our yacht and cruise the Med and maybe beyond. We've purchased our boat, started the retirement from work process (Amanda is leading the way!), begun to sell our belongings and are trying to get our land life organised for us to head off in early June this year.
So far we have travelled to the boat twice since September 2023 when we purchased her, 24hr trips in the van taking 'stuff' to the boat driving in relays. Take a rest folks before you start seeing lorries that aren't really there!!
We have learnt that Galacia in Autumn can be sunny with light winds but also really wet with intense rainfall at times. It's a really lovely area though, we are looking forward to cruising the area in summer 24 and trying the local seafood delicacies with a glass or two of Albarino wine! After a month or so of that we will head down the Portugese coast to the Med. As seasoned dinghy sailors there are many 'firsts' in the transition to big boat sailing and we are looking forward to sharing our experiences as we travel.
