Kargi Koyu is a wonderful bay near Eckincek where we anchored for 4 days surrounded by pine trees to the waters edge. We are with Charlie and Carol Baker on Lysander and we are very grateful to them for showing us the best spots. We had a very relaxing time Snorkeling and generally chilling, the highlight being a Kayak trip around the headland where we spotted a rare Red starfish. Charlie didn't come with us and we returned to hear about his hair rasing experience of being 'attacked' by a large remora whilst Snorkeling. The fish and its companion chased him around trying to attach itself to his body or limbs. Charlie had to take evasive action as it tried to get up his shorts! Drama over we obviously had to have several beers and G and T's to calm Charlie's nerves from his near death experience.
Remora coming in for the kill..........
We moved from there across to Eckincek marina, our favourite in Turkey so far, for water and provisions.

It's a little bijou marina nestled under a cliff with showers and an exclusive restaurant half way up the cliff. It's our second visit this summer. We treated ourselves to dinner in the restaurant and next morning woke to be asked for a radio check by the boat next to us. We had no idea who this was until we were introduced to Sir Chay Blyth!! We had a nice discussion about the Atlantic rally crossing which we hope to do in 2026 and learnt that he used to own it amongst his many other sailing and adventure achievements. Sadly we had to leave before we got to know him better to head to Serce Limani which is a small bay with a narrow entrance and thus very sheltered from the wind, not that there is any since the light winds continue with no end in sight currently.

We arrived to find a Turkish Gulet boat full of Germans who were enjoying some skinny dipping, fortunately (unfortunately?) they left shortly after we arrived leaving our two yachts as the only ones in the bay. Lovely.
